Frequently Asked Questions

The questions aspirants ask us most about speed, accuracy and certificates.

9 Key Questions
WPM Speed

What is the minimum typing speed required for government exams?

SSC CHSL LDC/JSA is typically 35 WPM English or 30 WPM Hindi in 10 minutes. SSC CGL DEST is about 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes (closer to 27 WPM), not a 35 WPM clerk paper. Always read the notice you applied under.

Accuracy

How accurate does my typing need to be?

Aim for 95% or better accuracy during practice, but check the error limit for your exam, post and category. Each recruiting authority defines its own scoring rules. TypingHub reports practice speed and accuracy; these are not an official qualifying result.

Exam Software

Which typing software is used in government exams?

The recruiting authority specifies the software and controls for each exam. TypingHub provides its own timed practice interface with font and backspace settings. Check your exam instructions and any official mock test before test day.

Practice Routine

How long should I practice typing every day?

We recommend 30 to 45 minutes of daily practice split into 10-15 minute sessions. Consistent daily practice builds muscle memory much faster than long sporadic sessions.

Certificate

Is the typing certificate from TypingHub valid?

Our verified certificates validate your typing speed and accuracy for job applications, resumes and skill verification, and every certificate carries a QR code for online verification. Official exam authorities still conduct their own final qualifying tests.

Hindi Typing

Can I practice Hindi typing on your platform?

Yes. TypingHub provides full Hindi typing support in both Krutidev 010 and Mangal (Inscript and Remington) fonts, aligned with SSC and RRB NTPC exam specifications.

Pricing

Is TypingHub free to use?

All typing tests, exam-wise mock tests, custom test creation and the certificate test are free to use with unlimited attempts. Paid structured typing courses are optional for candidates who want guided lesson plans.

Devices

Can I practice typing tests on a mobile phone?

The platform works on mobile browsers for reading and reviewing results, but government typing tests are conducted on a physical keyboard. For realistic practice we strongly recommend a laptop or desktop with a full-size keyboard.

Backspace

Should I practice with the backspace key disabled?

Several government typing tests restrict or disable backspace, so correcting a mistake mid-passage is not always possible. Practising at least a few sessions per week with backspace disabled in Advance Mode trains you to keep going instead of stopping to fix errors, which is exactly the habit the real test rewards.
